Why did you choose your home, and how does it reflect your family life today?

"We bought a charming 100 sqm maisonette apartment nearly five years ago. Our goal was to invest in a newly built, environmentally friendly space that wouldn’t need renovation. Especially since I was about to give birth to our second child. It was important for us to create a home that felt ready to welcome a growing family."

How has your interior style changed since becoming a mother?

"During those first years of motherhood, my full focus was on my two baby boys. I tried to see our home through their eyes and shape every corner to be cozy, playful, and safe. Over time, we started letting go of traditional ideas of what a home should look like and instead built our own solutions. The biggest challenges have always been storage and adjusting to the ever-changing needs of different age stages."

How do you balance creating a tidy home while embracing everyday mess with kids?

"It depends on what you consider tidy. For us, it's often a ‘beautiful mess.’ There are always piles of clothes, toys, and kid stuff scattered around. When you're balancing work and family life, chaos can feel inevitable. One way we cope is by traveling and getting outside often. But the biggest game changer has been learning that every single item in your home needs a designated place. Once everything has a home, tidying becomes sustainable."

What small design choices have made your home feel both family friendly and personal?

"Practical choices have made the biggest difference. Like placing the changing area in the bathroom instead of the kids’ bedroom, or having a family wardrobe where all our clothes are stored in one large unit. We think of each room functionally. That’s why every family member has a workspace, including a homework area for the kids. It’s all about designing around how we live, not just how things look."

"I’m a minimalist at heart and love earthy tones. But it’s so important to let my boys express themselves."

What are your thoughts on decorating your child’s room, and how did you choose colors, furniture and style?

"This one is always tricky, since I’m a minimalist at heart and love earthy tones. But it’s so important to let my boys express themselves. I use their favorite objects and colors as starting points and build the room around those details. One of the biggest shifts we made was moving both kids into one shared bedroom and turning the second, larger room into a dedicated playroom. It allowed us to create a calm, cozy space for sleeping and a separate, lively space for playing."

Which family routines or habits make your house feel most like “home”?

"This might sound small, but it means a lot to us. We always change from ‘outside clothes’ into ‘home clothes’ as soon as we get back, right after washing our hands. We never wear shoes inside. It’s one of those habits that helps us switch into a slower, more relaxed rhythm. And we spend most of our time together, unless someone needs a little quiet space, of course."

Name one piece of furniture or decor you value highly and share the story behind it.

"This is a hard one. My husband and I don’t have any inherited furniture, for different reasons, so I’m always on the hunt for vintage treasures with history and character. That’s one reason I love Nofred so much. Their pieces are timeless and incredibly well made. I hope to pass them down to my grandchildren someday."

Which three Nofred Products are your favorites and how do you use them in your home?

"The Mouse set is absolutely amazing — the tiny chairs are so cute and easy to move around that they naturally end up all over our home, most often in the living room around the coffee table where we love playing games together. The Mouse table is just as practical: it’s light enough for my boys to move it on their own. They love rearranging their space while building their play projects. Another highlight is our beloved Book Holder, which is perfect for displaying just the right number of books that are currently favourites."
