Part Of The Conversation
A meal changes when the smallest person at the table can see across it. They stop being handed things and start passing them. The Mouse Chair Junior does not make room at the table. It makes the child part of what happens there.
Why A Mouse
Children understand animals before they understand rooms. A mouse is small, quick and easy to overlook, which is close to how a child feels in a home built for adults. Nofred put one in every room. Not as decoration. As proof that someone thought about who else lives here.
A Seat For Every Table
Mouse is not sized to the child.
It is sized to the table the child is sitting at.
Kept For The Next One
A Mouse chair carries a little of every child who's used it. A pencil pressed too hard and slipped over the edge of the paper. Breakfast turned messy again. The chair wandered from the kitchen table to the bedroom and back, following wherever the day led.
When one child outgrows it, Mouse moves on to the next — and a new childhood begins around the very same chair.
Made And Tested
Children rarely sit perfectly still. They climb up, lean back, turn around and do it all again tomorrow.
Mouse is made for that. Its two curved back panels carry the load and give the chair its ears. Each piece is tested for the strength, stability and safety expected of children’s furniture at the Danish Technological Institute.
Everyone's Chair
Mouse doesn't only live in children's rooms. It has found its way into libraries, hospitals, churches, cafés and restaurants.
Places where furniture is used every day, by everyone.
If it belongs there, it belongs at home.
